Boarding
The Pooch Parlor offers boarding to those dogs and cats that have been previous customers. We are extremely careful about the dogs and cats that we board because we board them either at the shop where they become part of the shop family during their stay, or they are boarded at the home of one of the groomers so that they are part of the home family environment. Either way, dogs that are not socialized or that bark excessively are referred to more kennel-oriented boarding facilities. The dogs we board go home happy, relaxed, exercised and CLEAN! All boarding is taken by appointment only.
DOGS: The charge for boarding dogs in the shop is $15/night. Most dogs have freedom to run and play during the regular working hours of 9am -3pm. They are kenneled if they have aggressive tendencies, or fleeing tendencies. The dogs at the shop are walked 2-3 times daily, and fed twice daily. Water is available to them at all times. Dogs that require a family environment are welcome to board at the owner’s home where she has 3 dogs, and 2 cats. The charge for family boarding is $25/night/dog. There is a fenced yard and 2 doggie doors to get into the house. If boarding dogs are unfamiliar with the doggie doors, they will be leash walked. Boarding dogs sleep on doggie beds in the bedroom unless they howl or bark (in which case they go in a kennel in the garage). All food is supplied by the Pooch Parlor or owner unless the dog has special food requirements. If you choose to board your dogs with us, we recommend that you bring along your pets favorite bed, toy, or pillow for a comforting scent of his family.
Most dogs that board with the Pooch Parlor are on their own vacation as long as they like playing with other dogs. We pride ourselves in sending home dogs that are happy, exercised and clean when they go home. All dogs that board must have an emergency contact number and vet number with shot records.
CATS: The charge for boarding cats in the shop is $15.00/night. Cats spend their days in the kennels with food, water, and a litter box and are allowed to roam and exercise after hours when the doors are locked. Cats that need a family environment are boarded at the home of the owner. The charge for this $25/night. Cats that are boarded at her home have a 10 x 15 room where they can roam as they will with food, water, and a litter box. All cats must have an emergency contact number and veterinarian of choice along with shots records.
